## Key values

- **Manufacturer:** RF Explorer
- **Model:** 6G Combo PLUS
- **Type:** Spectrum analyser
- **Instrument class:** RF spectrum analyser
- **Quantities measured:** power, frequency
- **Axes:** single
- **Peak hold:** Yes
- **On-device logging:** Yes
- **Declared accuracy:** Typical amplitude stability ±3 dBm; frequency stability ±1.0 ppm — Manufacturer figure, not an independent verification.
- **Market status:** Currently sold

## Frequency coverage by mode

One band per measuring mode, as the manufacturer states it.

- **frequency** — Left connector: 50 kHz – 960 MHz
- **frequency** — Right connector: 240 MHz – 6.1 GHz, extendable to 7.5 GHz with the wideband licence

## Display range by mode

- **Amplitude** — −125 dBm to +10 dBm, absolute maximum input +30 dBm (resolution 0.5 dBm)
- **Frequency** — spans of 2 – 960 MHz in a single sweep (resolution 1 kHz)
- **Resolution bandwidth** — automatic, 2.6 kHz – 600 kHz

## Calibration

Manufacturer specification only; typical amplitude accuracy of ±3 dBm makes this an identification instrument rather than a calibrated exposure meter.

## Suited to

- Answering which service a signal belongs to, which no broadband meter can do: bands, channels and duty structure are visible on the sweep
- Verifying shielding or filter performance as a before-and-after comparison at a specific frequency
- Wide coverage from 50 kHz, taking in LF, MF, HF and VHF that consumer RF meters cannot reach

## What it cannot do

- Reads power at a connector in dBm, not field strength in the room: turning a sweep into V/m or µW/m² requires a calibrated antenna factor for every frequency, which the supplied antennas do not provide
- The supplied antennas are directional or single-polarisation, so a measurement is not isotropic and depends on orientation
- ±3 dBm typical amplitude accuracy — a factor of two in power — is far too coarse for a compliance statement
- No low-frequency magnetic or electric field capability
- Not a substitute for an exposure meter: a spectrum is evidence about the source, not a comparable exposure figure

## What these figures are

Every number on this page is the manufacturer's own declared specification, reproduced so that models can be compared field by field. Nothing here is an independent test of the instrument, a calibration certificate, or a statement that a reading taken with it can be compared with a regulatory limit — that depends on the detector, the averaging and, where it matters legally, an accredited calibration.
