## What the figure does not cover

- Not electrically conductive as a surface, so it cannot be grounded and does nothing for low-frequency electric fields, which need a separate measure
- A curtain or canopy is only as good as its closure: an open edge or a gap at the floor can leave the measured level barely changed
- Reflective rather than absorbing, so an enclosure with a transmitter inside it can measure higher inside than outside
- Repeated washing and creasing degrade the woven metal, and the declared figure assumes a flat unwashed sample

## What these figures are

Every attenuation value on this page is the manufacturer's own declaration for a flat sample in a test fixture, reproduced so that products can be compared on the same terms. It is not a regulatory limit, not an independent test, and not a prediction of what a meter will read after installation — an installed shield is set by its weakest path, so the only figure that describes a room is a before-and-after measurement of that room.
