## What the figure does not cover

- Conductive paint left ungrounded floats at the potential of nearby wiring and can raise the AC electric field in the room rather than lower it
- The declared dB applies to a continuous coated sample: windows, doors, sockets and service penetrations are unshielded paths and usually dominate the installed result
- Coats have to be continuous and of the declared wet film thickness; thin or patchy application loses several dB with no visible sign
- A TÜV SÜD certification of the product is not a measurement of the finished room, and no attenuation figure predicts what a meter will read after installation

## What these figures are

Every attenuation value on this page is the manufacturer's own declaration for a flat sample in a test fixture, reproduced so that products can be compared on the same terms. It is not a regulatory limit, not an independent test, and not a prediction of what a meter will read after installation — an installed shield is set by its weakest path, so the only figure that describes a room is a before-and-after measurement of that room.
