## Key values

- **Organization:** Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency
- **Edition:** RPS S-1 (Rev. 1), February 2021
- **Jurisdiction:** AU
- **Frequency range:** 100 kHz – 300 GHz
- **Status of values:** Legally enforceable in at least one jurisdiction

## Scope

RPS S-1 replaced RPS 3 (2002) and adopts the ICNIRP 2020 limits. It is in force as a licence condition for ARPANSA licence holders, and the ACMA's Radiocommunications (Electromagnetic Radiation — Human Exposure) Standard requires radiocommunications devices supplied in Australia to keep users within the ARPANSA basic restrictions, which is what makes the limits binding for phones and transmitters.
