WOREMOR SilverLoom silvered knit fabric

Semi-transparent silver-plated nylon knit declared at 50 dB with 0.6 Ω per 100 mm surface resistance, conductive enough to be grounded and therefore usable against low-frequency electric fields as well as RF.

Declared attenuation

Each figure is the manufacturer's declaration for the frequency and the layer or coat count named next to it. The percentage is computed from the dB value, not quoted separately.

1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
50 dB — removes 99.999% of the incident power density (1 part in 100,000 gets through)

Test method

Manufacturer-declared at 1 GHz, measured to ASTM D4935-10 or IEEE Std 299-2006, with a screening report per material.

Construction

Knitted silver-plated nylon, 84% nylon and 16% silver, 28 g/m², 150 cm wide, RoHS compliant.

Typical application

  • Net curtains
  • Canopies
  • Room dividers in laboratories and practices

What the figure does not cover

  • Grounding is required for the low-frequency electric field claim; ungrounded, it is an RF-only material
  • Silver plating tarnishes and abrades, and washing or movement reduces conductivity without any visible change
  • A knit stretches: the declared figure is for the relaxed flat fabric, and stretched or distorted areas open the loops
  • Declared on a flat sample, so seams, closures and the gap at floor level set the installed result

What these figures are

Every attenuation value on this page is the manufacturer's own declaration for a flat sample in a test fixture, reproduced so that products can be compared on the same terms. It is not a regulatory limit, not an independent test, and not a prediction of what a meter will read after installation — an installed shield is set by its weakest path, so the only figure that describes a room is a before-and-after measurement of that room.
