Shielding products
Named shielding products with the attenuation each manufacturer declares, pinned to the frequency, the layer or coat count and the test standard it was measured under, plus surface resistance, thickness, grounding requirement and what the figure does not cover. Every value is a manufacturer declaration for a flat sample, not an installed measurement.
Heavy copper- and nickel-metallised netting declared at 98 dB single layer and 132 dB two layers at 1 GHz with 0.01 Ω square resistance, the manufacturer's high-end interior product for laboratories and secure rooms.
WOREMOR · 98 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Compact metallised polyester netting declared at 80 dB single layer and 106 dB two layers at 1 GHz, the manufacturer's standard bonded lining for walls, ceilings and floors.
WOREMOR · 80 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Semi-transparent cotton fabric with woven-in copper and silver declared at 38 dB single layer and 53 dB two layers at 1 GHz, not electrically conductive as a surface and therefore no use against low-frequency electric fields.
WOREMOR · 38 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Densely woven cotton fabric with copper and silver declared at 41 dB single layer and 54 dB two layers at 1 GHz, the tighter-woven version of NATURELL and equally non-conductive as a surface.
WOREMOR · 41 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Light copper- and nickel-metallised polyester non-woven declared at up to 65 dB across 30 MHz to 20 GHz with up to 0.1 Ω surface resistivity, air-permeable and used as a technical shielding layer rather than a finished shield.
WOREMOR · 65 dB at 30 MHz – 20 GHz, single layer, manufacturer's stated maximum
Twelve-layer precious-metal coated self-adhesive window film declared at 32 dB at 1 GHz with 72% light transmission, restricted to interior application on non-heat-absorbing glass.
WOREMOR · 32 dB at 1 GHz, single film layer on glass
Maximum-attenuation version of RF-IE50, declared at 40 dB one layer, 48 dB two layers and 54 dB three layers at 1 GHz, and 44/66/86 dB at 40 GHz, with the manufacturer noting reduced hardness and abrasion resistance as the trade-off.
WOREMOR · 40 dB at 1 GHz, one layer
Graphite and carbon-black shielding paint declared at 36 dB in one layer and 43 dB in two layers, with the manufacturer claiming near-constant attenuation and no preferred polarisation up to 18 GHz, for interior and exterior use.
WOREMOR · 36 dB at manufacturer states near-constant response up to 18 GHz, one layer
Semi-transparent silver-plated nylon knit declared at 50 dB with 0.6 Ω per 100 mm surface resistance, conductive enough to be grounded and therefore usable against low-frequency electric fields as well as RF.
WOREMOR · 50 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Fine stainless steel gauze with 0.3 mm mesh declared at 55 dB at 1 GHz and a square resistance of 0.03 Ω, which makes it groundable so it also controls low-frequency electric fields.
WOREMOR · 55 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Coarser 1.0 mm stainless steel gauze declared at 40 dB single layer and 55 dB two layers, with 70% open area for use where light and air have to pass, and a square resistance of 0.1 Ω.
WOREMOR · 40 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Very light copper- and nickel-metallised polyester netting declared at 60 dB at 1 GHz with 0.2 mm mesh and 0.03 Ω square resistance, intended for insect screens, vents and equipment openings indoors.
WOREMOR · 60 dB at 1 GHz, single layer, flat sample
Carbon-based water-borne shielding paint declared at 46 dB in one coat and 53 dB in two coats at 1 GHz, measured on flat samples to ASTM D4935-10 or IEEE Std 299-2006, and requiring a grounded conductive connection to also control low-frequency electric fields.
YSHIELD GmbH & Co. KG · 46 dB at 1 GHz, one coat
Two-layer 0.12 mm magnetic shielding film declared at 12.1 dB single layer rising to 21.7 dB in four layers, quoted by the manufacturer as a field-amplitude reduction of 75.1% to 91.8%.
YSHIELD GmbH & Co. KG · 12.1 dB at power frequency (50/60 Hz) magnetic field, single layer
Six-layer 0.5 mm magnetic shielding film declared at 20 dB single layer rising to 33 dB in four layers, quoted by the manufacturer as a field-amplitude reduction of 89.4% to 97.7%.
YSHIELD GmbH & Co. KG · 20 dB at power frequency (50/60 Hz) magnetic field, single layer
Carbon-fibre shielding paint declared at 37 dB in one coat and 43 dB in two coats at 1 GHz, and up to 93 dB at 40 GHz, formulated for hardness and non-staining rather than for the highest attenuation per coat.
YSHIELD GmbH & Co. KG · 37 dB at 1 GHz, one coat
