YSHIELD M6L-9X magnetic shielding film
Six-layer 0.5 mm magnetic shielding film declared at 20 dB single layer rising to 33 dB in four layers, quoted by the manufacturer as a field-amplitude reduction of 89.4% to 97.7%.

Declared attenuation
Each figure is the manufacturer's declaration for the frequency and the layer or coat count named next to it. The percentage is computed from the dB value, not quoted separately.
- power frequency (50/60 Hz) magnetic field, single layer
- 20 dB — removes 90.0% of the field amplitude
- power frequency (50/60 Hz) magnetic field, two layers
- 26 dB — removes 95.0% of the field amplitude
- power frequency (50/60 Hz) magnetic field, three layers
- 30 dB — removes 96.8% of the field amplitude
- power frequency (50/60 Hz) magnetic field, four layers
- 33 dB — removes 97.8% of the field amplitude
Test method
Manufacturer-declared magnetic-field attenuation per layer count with the corresponding percentage reduction in field amplitude; amplitude ratios, not power ratios.
Construction
Six-layer high-permeability alloy film laminated on both sides for use as an intermediate layer in walls, roofs and floors.
Typical application
- Intermediate layer in wall, roof or floor build-ups
- Shielding a room from a transformer or busbar on the other side of a wall
- Vehicle and industrial installations
What the figure does not cover
- Diverts flux rather than blocking it: the film has to be between the source and the occupied space, and a partial panel leaves the field around its edges
- Diminishing returns with layers — four layers add 13 dB over one, so the geometry and the distance to the source matter more than stacking material
- Kinking, folding or mechanical shock reduces permeability permanently and invisibly
- Declared per flat layer in a laboratory fixture; an installed result has to be verified with a gaussmeter before and after
- No RF claim: this is a power-frequency magnetic-field product
What these figures are
Every attenuation value on this page is the manufacturer's own declaration for a flat sample in a test fixture, reproduced so that products can be compared on the same terms. It is not a regulatory limit, not an independent test, and not a prediction of what a meter will read after installation — an installed shield is set by its weakest path, so the only figure that describes a room is a before-and-after measurement of that room.

Shielding & remediation
- Shielding attenuation
Decibels of field reduction provided by a material. Every 10 dB is a factor of 10 in power density: 30 dB removes 99.9%, 10 dB removes 90%.

The quantity an ELF gaussmeter reports, expressed in milligauss or microtesla, used to assess wiring, transformers and power lines. 1 µT = 10 mG.
