Calibration

Supplied with a NIST-traceable calibration certificate; annual recalibration is offered by AlphaLab.

Suited to

  • Quantitative magnetic-field work where the number has to be defensible: three-axis true magnitude, 0.01 mG resolution and traceable calibration
  • Separating power-frequency fields from higher-frequency content using the VLF-only setting
  • Finding the dominant field direction with the single-axis setting

What it cannot do

  • Magnetic fields only — no electric field, no RF, no body voltage
  • No static (DC) magnetic field measurement; this is an AC instrument
  • No logging output, so it answers 'how strong now', not 'what happened overnight'
  • Response is specified from 13 Hz, so it says nothing about static fields or sub-13 Hz content

What these figures are

Every number on this page is the manufacturer's own declared specification, reproduced so that models can be compared field by field. Nothing here is an independent test of the instrument, a calibration certificate, or a statement that a reading taken with it can be compared with a regulatory limit — that depends on the detector, the averaging and, where it matters legally, an accredited calibration.
