How do I find a qualified EMF consultant?

Search the certifier's own register (BBI, IBN, SRP), or an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab where the result has legal weight, and judge the survey by whether the report names instrument, calibration, method, positions and the limit compared against.

Question

How do I find someone qualified to survey my home for EMF, and how do I check them?

Answer

Start from a certifying body's own register rather than from search ads, because that is the only listing the certifier will stand behind: the Building Biology Institute publishes a directory of currently certified EMRS/BBEC professionals in North America, IBN trains and lists building-biology consultants in Europe, and the UK's Society for Radiological Protection maintains chartered registers that cover non-ionising radiation. For anything with legal consequences — a base-station complaint, a workplace assessment — ask instead for a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for the specific measurement method. Then check the report, not the person: it should name the instrument and its calibration date, the method, the measurement positions, and which limit or guideline each number is compared against.

All practitioner credentials here are voluntary and private; prefer ones with a syllabus, exam and renewal (EMRS, BBEC, IBN, CRadP). ISO/IEC 17025 accredits a lab for a specific method and is what regulators require.
